RJSS with the collaboration with Conexus Foundation implementing Project PRERNA in 3 districts of Jharkhand namely; Koderma, Deoghar and Chatra to create awareness of frontline health workers on RH blood factor in the state of Jharkhand. Through this program, team has created awareness about intuitional delivery, importance of knowing own blood group and mother & child health related to RH incompatibility, risk associated with it and importance of being under the consultation of the doctor for its prevention. The program had focused on awareness and facilitation campaign for women of reproductive ages between 20 and 40 years in the state of Jharkhand.

Rh incompatibility is a condition that develops when a pregnant woman has Rh-negative blood and the baby in her womb has Rh-positive blood. It occurs when a woman who is Rh-negative becomes pregnant with a baby with Rh-positive blood. With Rh incompatibility, the woman's immune system reacts and creates Rh antibodies.

Findings and feedback -

During training it was found that around 50% to 60% of the participants were not aware about their own blood group. Awareness level among these frontline about RH Incompatibility was very low. Only few of them were aware about the topic but only had basic idea.

Participants were happy & satisfied to know about the untouched topic of RH factor. According to participants, they were really satisfied with the content that were delivered. They also shared that they felt like they learnt something new today and also didn’t get bored.
